Max & Antoinette
San Francisco, CA & Touring – 2013–2014

Max & Antoinette is a clown duet created by Joan Howard and me in 2013. These two delightfully absurd characters—loud, loving, tender, and ridiculous—inhabit a world built on physical comedy, irreverent play, and heartful connection. Max is an earnest dreamer and meticulous planner; Antoinette is clumsy, full of delight, and eager to be loved. Together, they navigate life’s messiness with a blend of childlike wonder and unapologetic theatrics.

During our touring years, we performed a piece about tourist yoga culture in Bali at the Bali Spirit Festival and Green School Bali, and presented Where’s the Show?! at the FoolsFury Festival in San Francisco. We also created a silent film featuring Max & Antoinette, which you can watch on our Facebook page.
