Clowns Without Borders: Zimbabwe
Traveled with Clowns Without Borders USA to Zimbabwe to bring laughter, play, and connection to communities impacted by displacement. Our team performed and led workshops for environmental refugees in and around Harare, as well as at Tongogara Refugee Camp—home to over 22,600 refugees and asylum-seekers.
Performing for audiences as large as 1,800 people, we made use of expansive outdoor spaces, gathering crowds in open fields where laughter rippled across the circle. These performances offered moments of shared joy, resilience, and human connection—reminders that even in the face of hardship, play and presence can build bridges and restore hope.
