ClownCorps Exquisite Clown

ClownCorps – Exquisite Clown
Virtual & Global – 2020
While sheltering in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, clowns from around the world came together to spark joy and connection in a time of isolation. I coordinated this international project, working with a wide array of artists to co-create Exquisite Clown—a remote performance experiment rooted in play, spontaneity, and the deeply human need for laughter.
In this digital ensemble collaboration, clowns responded to each other’s creative prompts in a surreal game of creative exchange, inspired by the “exquisite corpse” method. Each artist contributed a short piece in reaction to the one before them—resulting in a whimsical, moving, and often hilarious tapestry of interconnected clown moments from around the globe.
The project was partially funded by NET/TEN and the Network of Ensemble Theaters’ Remote Connection Mini-Grants. Thank you, NET, for supporting this burst of joy during such a challenging time.
