Medical Clown Project

Medical Clown Project – San Francisco, CA USA
2017 – 2023

From 2017 to 2023, I served as a therapeutic hospital clown with the Medical Clown Project, an organization that integrates medical clowning into patient care in hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

As part of a team of professional clowns trained in therapeutic performance, I brought laughter, presence, and human connection to adult and pediatric patients, their families, and medical staff. Working bedside and in common areas, we used improvisation, music, and physical comedy to create moments of relief, dignity, and joy in the midst of medical treatment and recovery.

This work deepened my belief in the transformative power of play, empathy, and embodied care—especially in spaces shaped by vulnerability and uncertainty.
